St. Louis

On Friday we got up very early and got on a plane to St. Louis.  Justin picked us up from the airport and we got some brunch at a sports bar where we watched the U.S. get screwed out of a World Cup win against Slovenia.  After we left we went to the Budweiser brewery and took the tour.  It was super hot outside, which made the hospitality room even better.  We got to have a couple fresh beers and picked up a few things from the gift shop.  Jordan's new favorite beer is Shock Top. 

We checked into our hotel, Lumiere, where Justin works, and took a quick nap before going to the Cardinals-A's game that night.  We had tickets to all 3 games of the series.  Not real sure how I got Jordan to go to all 3.  She was a good sport.  We went to the Friday night game with Justin and Emily.  The A's were up most of the game until the 8th.  They ended up losing 4-2.  Matt Holiday hit a homerun early for the Cardinals.  He ended up hitting 4 over the weekend!  Where was that last year when he played for Oakland?!?

On Saturday we got up and went to the Galleria for some shopping.  They had some stores that we don't have here and Jordan really wanted to check them out.  She got a few things and then we caught a cab back to the hotel.  For Saturday night's game it was just Jordan and me.  We were trying to find the hotel shuttle to take to the game and after some searching we found one in front of the casino.  It wasn't the hotel's shuttle but a guy was standing in front of it and asked us if we were going to the game.  We said "Yes" so he waved us on.  We soon discovered that this was not the shuttle we expected.  It was full of young guys having a bachelor party.  But they were going to the game.  And they were waaasted.  And I'm the only one in A's gear.  So I got a little heckling but nothing too bad.  So we took the booze cruise to the game and found our seats.  A's lost again, 4-3, but we almost caught a foul ball.  Landed about 4 seats away!

Sunday's game was a day game and it was super hot.  We only stayed for about half of it and watched the rest at Hooters a couple of blocks away.  Oakland finally won a game.  That night we all went out to "The Hill", which is a old Italian area that has a lot of traditional Italian restaurants.  A lot of them were closed on Sunday but we found a few that were open.  The people who work there are definitely true Italian.  It was fun.  The last thing we did was visit the Arch.  I hadn't been there since I was 13.
