Since we got married on Sept 19, 2009 we decided it would be a good idea to keep a journal of everything that goes on in our lives together. We are hoping to keep this as a way to look back on the events that will have shaped our family.
Right now our family is Eric - 28, Jordan - 27, Murphy - 4, and Norman - 7 months
Probably the biggest thing that happened this year was the passing of Jordan's uncle. Jordan and James were left with an estate in Arizona as well as a construction company. It has been almost a year since and the estate is still a bit of a mess. We did receive a check for a portion of one of her uncle's 401k's. There is another that Morgan Stanley has not paid out yet, even though they are not disputing it belongs to Jordan and James. When it is all said and done, it will be a large, unexpected gift to our family.
Counterfall got together to play at our wedding. We had some practices and even got a warm up gig at Rock Theater on Western. It was fun to get back on stage with the guys and play the old songs and some new covers. Rock Theater asked us back and we actually played there a couple times. After the wedding, we decided to change our name because there is a christian band in TN with a label and the same band name. We decided to change it to Theory Driven and would like to write some new songs and maybe play a few more gigs just for fun.
Kevin and Becca moved in to our neighborhood just a few houses down from us. Its nice to have some friends in the neighborhood. Kevin and I get together to play NCAA and work on music.
Since the wedding we have been working to house train Norman. Jordan took a medical terminology class at OSU-OKC, and we both are still working at Dell.
For Christmas this year, we made the rounds to all the family. First was redneck Christmas in Arcadia. It actually wasn't awful. A lot of hide n seek with the kids and we visited Pops on the way home. We spent a few days in Tulsa and actually got snowed in when Oklahoma was under a blizzard warning. We had a Christmas lunch at Grandma Jester's but since Gayla and Greg didn't make it this year it wasn't too exciting.
The real excitment was Jordan's foot surgery on Dec. 30th. Her mom came and stayed with us for a few days and helped me take care of her. Its been about a week and a half now and she is doing really well.
Dec. 31st - OU beats Standford in the Sun Bowl 31-27. BOOMER SOONER!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2010
So far the best thing that has happened this year is Texas losing the BCS National Championship game to Alabama.
We have our honeymoon coming up in a 10 days!! We are going to drive to Dallas first to see Eddie Izzard and then to Austin, TX and hang out with Patrick and Andrea and Mark....and also have some time for ourselves. We'll probably also go down to San Antonio before driving back home. We should have a lot to talk about when we get back.
The other day we did have a conversation about babies. As in, Eric and Jordan having one. The conversation mostly centered around Jordan wanting to make sure she is not "fully pregnant" during the summer months. We'll try to work out the logistics later.
Eric
