We are such slackers when it comes to this blog. Maybe we need to set a reminder or something on these hip new phones all the kids have. Well April has been pretty busy. Lots of Thunder games of course, as the regular season came to an end. Playoffs have started and it is crazy loud inside the arena. We went to the zoo the last couple weekends, once in OKC and once in Tulsa.
We also went to Remington Park with the intent to see the camel and ostrich races. They said it started at 1:30pm so that's when we showed up. Well the "extreme" races weren't until later in the day and it took forever just to get through 2 races so we ended up leaving early and watching Ron Artest elbow James Harden in the head.
This past weekend when we were in Tulsa we went to the Black Keys concert at the BOK Center. It was a great show. The Arctic Monkeys opened, they seem a bit like an indie rock/punk type band. I didn't really care for them too much, but they played a couple songs I liked. But the Black Keys were pretty awesome. They play with a lot of energy for just 2 guys, and they sounded great. Unfortunately, the chick right behind us thought she was on the floor at a Godsmack concert. Her and her boyfriend showed up right as the Black Keys start and she immediately loses all control of her arms and smacks Jordan right in the head. After regaining control, she apologized, so Jordan shrugged it off and tried to listen to the show. I say "tried" because this chick apparently had no control over her vocal chords either because she began to "woooo!" through most songs and at the most inappropriate times. On top of that, her limb control issue resurfaced and she began waving her arms around as if she was one of those inflatable arm flailing tube men (or women) at a used car lot. So I tried to position Jordan in front of me as best I could so she didn't get smacked again. FYI - We are not on the floor for this concert either, we are in the same seats you would sit in if you were at a basketball game. So not a lot of extra room to be waving your arms around (with a beer of course). On top of this, it seems she also had turret syndrome (poor girl - well, poor 40 year old crazy woman with tattoos all over her arms). After EVERY song, she would cuss our section and/or Tulsa in general for being a *crappy* crowd for not jumping around and head banging to THE BLACK KEYS! Apparently, on top of all her medical conditions, she is quite a seasoned concert goer. Anyway, they finally left, during the last song of the night (like any hardcore music fan would, right?). She really didn't ruin the show for us, but it would have been awesome if she wasn't there.
